I’d like to request 1985 jcole response by YBN Cordae. I really enjoyed this song, although I might be a little biased since it was shot in Little Haiti here in Miami lol. It's a fun song that still shows some skill so I'm all for songs like these hitting the mainstream so that people who haven't heard of him can discover Bas's other music.

You made two distinct comparisons to this release and I feel one is true in loop the other in feel. Growing up I lived on the Pharcyde and to this very day profess the are as relevant as ever. The were so far ahead of their time and pushed the envelope both lyrically and rhythmically. A thought just occurred to me though. There are those among us who may not have heard this throwback to this earlier essence of rap. Would you be willing to rewind things and do not a review or reaction but better titled, "Introduction" showcasing artists of instrumental import to their respective genres? Good review, guys. This is a boppy, fun song. I will check out Bas because of this reaction. I'm going on almost six months requesting Trapeze's Medusa (1970) as the early hard rock song you first visit for a free thinking reaction. Once you get back to that era, why not blow some rockers' minds with a song many will not have heard even though it eventually sold over 1 million copies?

I think the thing about music is that people tend to gravitate towards a nice hook so as a rapper if you have no access to a person with good vocals you kinda just gotta do it yourself, pitch it, throw some auto tune and go with what you got. The analysis of the lyrics is the best thing you guys do. I want to listen to you tell me what the meaning and symbolism is of things in the books we have to read at school. I would listen to you guys explain Hamlet to me. Or Flowers for Algernon. Those are challenging reads and the way to analyze and translate music is a lot like literature--I want to apply what you do to music to reading what you're doing is critical thinking. You are free thinkers who think critically. You're not just bringing people together but teaching them how to think about music, about words. Do more of it. I want to get better at thinking this this way, by hearing critical thinkers talk and explain things.
