Yessss....learning phrases is the best way to induce confidence and a move towards achieving fluency. Out of these 50 I liked 'Dont beat around the Bush'.. keep up the good work and present more such phrases. Thing I liked here that you take limited time for each phrase and do not chew the same things. You segue'd it well.

To be a good English speaker, you should start the method "shadowing" technically it's a practice to memorize all the dialogues and conversation from maybe a podcast, movie or series. How to do it.. Step 1: Download a movie, show or podcast (whatever you enjoy) in English. Make sure if it's movie or show it has a subtitle as well. Step 2: Start watching the show.. and the moment the first dialogue is delivered, at the same time say it out aloud the same dialogue (maybe at first you probably wouldn't really get all the words) but finish the movie/show. Step 3: Rewatch it and do the same practice as step two. This time you might catch more words and keep up with the pace of the dialogue. Step 4: repeat this until you memorize the whole movie/ show (episode)'s dialogues. Step 5: now you've memorized all the but make sure it keep repeating it out aloud orally (not in your mind). And see the magic at the end of the fifth or sixth movie you'll be quite fluent. It may take months but it works like charm.. and don't stop the practice make sure you keep learning new movies all the time (even if you've gotten to enough fluency). It works. The method is called shadowing. There are plenty of KZbin videos explaing if you want to know more about it.
