hi I’m trying to make one for myself. is it possible for you to adjust the sizing of the hat while crocheting?

Yes, once you get to a certain increase you can put it on to see if the circumference is good enough of it you have to add more increases. For an adult I would increase up to 72 dc and then take it from there if I need to up it one more time. My head size is about 22” and the increase up to 66dc fits me but it’s snug.
