Baseball Accident Leads to an Unfortunate ER Visit

Our weekend plans take a turn for the worst as Mason injures his hand at the batting cages. We our baseball weekend tournament got rained out, but it likely wouldn't have mattered as Mason hurt his hand and we spend a part of our weekend in the ER.

I’m in a similar situation to Mason. I broke my wrist back in November and was supposed to just be in a cast for 3 months and get it off in January. Flash forward to January and my bone never healed so I had to get surgery which put me out for the start of lacrosse season. It’s been tough but you just gotta use this setback as motivation to get better. Stay positive and heal quick Mason!

Oh no! I did the same thing in softball! hurt my hand when I tried to bunt in a batting cage off a pitching machine and the ball hit my hand instead of the bat 😬. Hope he heals quickly!

Sorry to hear that about Mason. 😢 I know the pain y’all are going through. My son, father and myself were in a bad wreck (on the way back from a baseball tournament) when he was 11 during the fall, resulting in double brain surgery. He made a full recovery 6 months later and back on the bump pitching his butt off! He’s currently a freshman in college and still pitching / living his dream. Tell Mason to keep his head up as this is only a minor setback and he’ll come back stronger than ever, trust me! Y’all will see him work harder than ever going forward. Was wanting to see the injury. Nurse here so was interested to see the type of wound a baseball can inflict. Paracetamol takes around 30-40 mins. But ibuprofen takes at least 45mins.

I feel you pain Mason my freshman year I broke my finger at the knuckle a week before are first softball game. I was out for 2 weeks of the season I tried to do everything plan but my coach would not let me play. I was in a splint from finger tip to wrist

One of the boys on my son's team had the same thing happen last summer...he missed about 2 weeks of not playing at all, and was on non-throwing duty when he got back for about another week until the stitches came out. Heal up, Mason.
