Jim Thome definitely deserves being in the Hall of Fame. Class act, great person, hard worker, good guy, fantastic player, honest man, raw power......

I may be wrong, but as I heard it, Paul Konerko would say about Thome, "he could have had a 3 homer game, but would spend so much time consoling a gut that just got sent down." Lie, or truth, I believe that about Jim Thome. Class!

Favorite player of all time…being from the Peoria area….he is a legend in this part of Illinois…the reason I am still an Indians fan…still can’t call them the guardians…just doesn’t feel right calling them that….got to meet him in 96 and took a tour of the stadium with my travel team since we got a chance to play in a tournament in cooperstown…and on the way back we got to meet a few players from the tribe..best baseball experience of my life

I had no idea how wonderful Jim Thome until I seen him and Chipper Jones I think it was riding somewhere together. I have quoted Jim Thome to my grandson several times. Now I have more material. My grandson loves playing baseball. He loves basketball. I told my Grandson Jim Thome said it is a good thing to play all sports.

He 's the closest to Lou Gehrig and I'm sure most ballplayers who competed with and against him , would agree too
