I’ll be ordering it when it drops. Along with some other stuff from your pro shop. And thank you again for the videos. It’s really helped me a lot. Today was a good result of the training and practice. I kept in mind the Scottsdale lady and was way more target fuckused. Gotta work on movement more and not over confirming on getting into position so much. Achieved the goal I had set for today’s match and got into 7th place for my 3rd ever match.

Cool, I'll pick up a copy when it drops. I'm working through Dryfire Reloaded right now. I'm getting more consistent in my grip, draw, and presentation, so thanks for that!

Hey Ben, Big fan of your content and a lot of what you say resonates with me both in shooting and on a personal level. I am new to the world of competitive/practical pistol shooting and I have become a better shooter in the last 6 months than I was for 10 years shooting casually, however, I have plateaued. I usually shoot 3 comps a month at a local indoor range that hosts then and given my financial situation these are the only opportunities I am able to shoot. The comps are all grouped together within 1.5 weeks so I usually go 3 weeks between range trips. I’ve noticed that usually the first comp of the month is my worst performance and I get better at each one. However this last month I felt my performances were especially poor. I feel like I am not progressing and my performances at individual stages are inconsistent at best. I’ve noticed that I do fairly well at stages where I’m forced to shoot on the move, but I really struggle with stages that are static and involve shooting multiple targets from a single position. From my own personal reflection I think that I am not gripping the pistol properly and In the heat of the moment my focus is shifting between target and sight. When I dry fire I do my best to grip my gun in the manner that I think is ideal, however as soon as I hear the beep it seems to go out of the window. I also think I am probably pulling my gun down to compensate for my shitty grip and lack of recoil control because I notice that a lot of my shots tend to hit low. I shoot a stock Glock 21 with iron sights and a weapon light. My philosophy is that if I can shoot well with this barebones high recoiling gun, then shooting a modded race gun will be easy. You touched on this topic in one of your recent videos and from what I remember your philosophy resonated with my own. I’ve always been of the belief that by making your training/practice as hard as you can, you push yourself to elevate your skills to a level that you wouldn’t otherwise attain. I use this mindset in my martial arts training and I view shooting as an extension of that. I am interested in becoming the best shooter I can be, not necessarily the best competitor. Many of the people I train with have suggested that I get better gear, shooter softer ammo, and other things that cater more to the gamified aspect of competitive shooting to enhance my performance. but to me these seem like crutches that would ultimately hinder my ability to progress as a shooter who is geared towards the real world application of shooting ie defensive/self protection. So my question to you is: Do you think I am getting in my own way by trying to make my shooting as challenging as possible? Would I be better served with a 9mm with an optic in my quest to become the best pure shooter that I can be? As a life long athlete I know how important it is to have a good coach and I was hoping to sign up for your class that is coming here to my state in early May but I was broke and now the class is full lol. I have more stable income now so I’m gonna settle for getting your book and plan to sign up for a class in the near future. Thanks for all the effort you put into these videos and the engagement you have with your subscribers. I know this was long so thank you if you read the whole thing
