Gotta say for the musky that I target, those angry dragons look just about perfect. Most of my musky are late spring/summer here in the north and I do mostly bucktails and topwater. I'd like to try one of those for my clients next year. Very cool

Great job on this one Sam. I can tell you put a lot of work into it. Probably your best camera and editing work yet. You've gotten a lot more natural in front of the camera too. As far as the baits go, I love the look of those gliders and the rubber baits. I just don't have a rod that will handle anything as heavy as those soft plastics are yet. I've got one of the baby dragons, and tbh I haven't found any confidence in it yet. It should get a lot of attention, but it's one of the few styles of lure I haven't so much as moved a fish with yet. You mentioned using smaller bucktails. Have you tried the esox assault ea-9s? It's a double 9s bucktail, but it has a really short, compact body. I haven't had much action on any other bucktail, but I don't have a lot of others. Just a longer double 9s and a longer double 8s. But I've moved a lot of fish with that short double 9s, blew a couple of figure 8 hooksets, and finally stuck one with it. I've been on the struggle bus all of September so far. I was on fire (by my standards) all through August. Missed the two aforementioned fish on the 8, caught a nice one on topwater, missed a few topwater strikes, and lost one on the 8 on topwater. Ever since September started I'm lucky to raise one fish a day, and haven't been bit yet. Raised one on topwater about moonset this morning, so hopefully that's a sign that things are picking up. Hopefully the heat wave we're in right now will end quick.

I'm not surprised you haven't heard of it. They were popular in the 1970's as one of the few deep running crankbaits available then. Over the years they've faded from popularity. I thought they'd been discontinued on the market and not made anymore. They're hard to find now but I guess you can still get them. They used to get big pike and muskies on them back in the day. Just thought you might find it interesting, is all.
