Looks good so far from what I was searching everywhere. We wanted a direct duct extension from an outside woodshed right to the hopper so we could load more than 2 bags at a time. The woodshed is large enough to hold 4 tons. I also see a problem with the dust from the pellets when they pour in. You should try a lid and put your pipe right through it.

Thanks for watching, and great ideas! I am not sure if I would try this inside my house, but a friend built a hopper out of an old gas or oil tin, hanging directly above his pellet stove. He has a 4” pipe running right into the stove hopper to hold a few extra bags. It’s in his shop kitchen and he uses it for parties and limited use.

For the scoop I'd recommend a steel feed scoop they're handy for moving pellets

I’ve been using a 2 gallon bucket for a while. It works great!

Ahh your stove setup out the window is exactly how I planned on doing mine. I also am putting it into a non finished basement. How well does it keep that area warm? Doesn’t heat the rest of your house as well?

It does a great job keeping our floor warm, and helps from burning so much LP or wood in the boiler!

Can I see more pictures of how you did the pipe work for the stove trying to figure out how to install mine thanks

It is kind of a one way deal here, all the parts have a male and female. The stove exits with an adapter into a tee. The tee is used as a clean out, with a cap on the bottom. Otherwise, it all just twist locks together. I used Duravent Pelletvent 3” piping, as recommended by my stove manufacturer. It exits through my wall piece using a manufactured thimble, safe for combustibles. Always follow local code and installation instructions when piping an appliance. 😉

On the outside of the house did you vent it vertical or horizontal with a gaurd so birds don't fly in??
@PullStartStables Жыл бұрын
@@andydoede1822 I did not worry about a bird entering. Your stove should have technical details on the termination outside. If not, here is a good source I found that you might be able to follow. inspectapedia.com/chimneys/Pellett-Stove-Fire-Clearances.php

Good idea but definitely need a better way to get pellets out of box? When pellets get lower in box won’t be much fun?

I have been multi-purposing it as a brooder box. When the newest chicks graduate to coop life, I’ll probably piano hinge the front side for better emptying ability.

If you’re going to be in the basement while they’re coming down you’ll need a good dust mask for the dust…it’s carcinogenic.
