Basement started out in 2009 and have released four studios albums.
They released their first full-length album, I Wish I Could Stay Here, through Run For Cover Records in 2011.
The band promoted the release through several tours, including tours to Australia and two American tours with label mates and friends Daylight (now Superheaven).
Before the release of their second album Colourmeinkindness, the band announced a hiatus. Colourmeinkindness was released on the 23rd October and charted at number 188 on the US Billboard 200 chart. In mid-November, the band played their final shows in Leeds at The Well on 16.11.12 and The Underworld in London on 17.11.12.
In June 2014, the band announced that they had recorded a new EP for release in July of that year, entitled Further Sky including two new songs, plus a cover of Suede's "Animal Nitrate". The band toured across Australia, Japan & America between 26th July and 20th August. For the latter, all of the tour dates had sold out. The band then played a trio of shows (London, Leeds and Manchester) in the UK in late October with support from Cloakroom and Newmoon.
Since then the band have toured extensively and released several albums.
Basement have just come back from a US run with Weezer & The Pixies & Australia with The Story So Far.
Basement's newest album "Beside Myself" came out in October 2018 and can be picked up from Fueled by Ramen Records.

seen 4 times now over the course of three years (2016 - 2019). from end of 8th grade to end of 11th grade. was hoping to catch em again before school ended earlier this year but corona and fate had other plans. such a phenomenal and classic band. done a lot for the culture. can't wait to show my kids their whole discography, along with the all the merch I've collected of them lmao

Watching this among many other live sets today of bands I would've been seeing at Slam dunk. Saw these legends on this same tour at their Brighton gig where I received at least 4 accidental kicks in the head from the many crowdsurfers and stagedivers. What a gig it was !!!!! :)
