Each week, Chris Alfano (bassist/occasional vocalist for East of the Wall) will be chronicling the progress of his basement home recording studio as it progresses from an empty room lined with cinderblocks into what hopefully turns out to be a cozy writing and recording womb.
This week is the end of the main construction, so we're looking at the flooring, audio connections between rooms, acoustic window, further soundproofing, and more.
p.s. I intentionally didn't get very scientific with the noise tests since there are still gaping holes in the walls, and I haven't tweaked the door seals at the bottoms yet (you can see in the closeup that the live room seal doesn't totally close on the right). I'll do some real metered tests next time.
