Hello sir I have a gear hob cutter, the only thing written on it is DP24/48 and 30degree the Diameter is 50mm, I wanted to know how to calculate lead angle from the above data. To set up angle in machine.

This is a Spline Hob. The lead angle for a spline would be about 1°14'19" The lead angle for a standard gear hob would be 1°15'58" The effective diameter of the hob being the OD-2*Addendum The calculator can be found here: gearcalculators.com/calc/lead-angle-worms-hobs/ Thanks for watching
