What if I hang my vertical in a tree? How far from the tree trunk should I put the wire to prevent the tree from soaking up the signal? Thank you.
@Stewart-HA5RV Жыл бұрын
The tree won't have a big effect anyway, but if you are about 1 metre or more away it will be good enough. Or alternatively if you've got a tree that big you might even use it to support an EFHW and go over the top of it as a inverted V or a sloper. You might need a bit more space either side, the advantage is resonant on multiple bands.

verticals always work well, even a wire going up to a tree will work, don't need a pole, radials can be cut in half for small gardens, just use twice as many. 73 zl3xdj.

In days of yore... 30 up and 30 out (feet) was consudered a good 7 MHz solution. 33' should also be tuneable on 21 MHz with an atu.

..simple math states that it will have a good swr on 15 and 6 metres. I have built 40m verticals, and the antenna is a 3/4 wavelength on 15m, and 1.75 wavelength on 6 metres.. VE3IIM/VE6PG
