The study of the Church’s demonology is a part of basic catechism and Christian instruction. The Scriptures are replete with teachings about the dark powers. Additionally, it is impossible to appreciate the magnitude of the saving deeds of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, without understanding how He, and He alone, has conquered Satan and destroyed his works. Lastly, Christians are called to fight and win in the spiritual war, and for this reason, it is essential that believers understand their enemies and their tactics. Toward this end, Father Josiah presents in these lectures in-depth studies of the Scriptures, Divine Services, and pedagogy of great saints and teachers on the subject of Satan and spiritual battle.

What you are doing is presenting a self-made rule in which it is forbidden for spiritual people to receive money, and wherein they must die from starvation. Seeing how you clearly haven't starved yourself to death, it is safe to conclude that you are not a spiritual person, and therefore not in a position of authority to declare what spirituality should be like.

​@@ariagrippasboulevards8990 Not quite. There is a place for poverty, but there is also a place for sensible use of material goods. Christianity is not opposed to the material world. Our God created the entire material world. What you are hinting at is called gnosticism, which is a hateful heresy. As for fasting, that is not the same as starvation. Even those few ascetics who can fast to such an extreme degree are not starving, but are being fed plentifully by God's divine grace. The way you can tell is that they do not die.

Best book on angels is by Mother Alexandra, foundress of Holy Transfiguration in PA. I think it's called _The Holy Angels_. My out-of-print copy is published by Light & Life, but I heard it's back in print, not sure of publisher. The book sticks to scripture and tradition, the liturgy and the fathers. Covers the western tradition as well. At the end Mother offers a critique of how western art departed from icon tradition of strong armored soldiers, and eventually gave us the sentimental floating winged baby heads that pass for angels in art, even today. Lex orandi, lex credendi.
