(F Maj 7 over D Min) I play some lines like that but didn't realize exactly what I was doing! Cool voicings too! There's enough in this Basic Bitch lesson to dig into for months!

Towards the end - if I’m not mistaken - you speak of using ”the IV chord F“. Does it really make sense to see C as the I chord here (which it is when F is IV), when the tune basically uses D minor (dorian) as its main tonal centre?

It’s one of those things where you need to use the language that makes sense to you to make the fastest connection. bIIImaj7 is a very legit way of thinking as well

I think you can just play over the bar line and catch the change so not to worry about the change or getting lost. Then if someone says you got lost you can say what? You didn't like that?

Considering song uses stacked fourths and minor 11 chords, I wonder if it's common or even humorous to just bar straight across the neck for the minor 11 sections😂
