@SwitchPie -novid : removes the valve on the guy intro at the beginning of launch -high : sets game priority to high (don't use it) +mat_motion_blur_percent_of_screen_max 0 : removes all motion blur on screen -lv : sets game to low violence mode which decreases gore alot and removes blood on screen

@@rax0x0 This is some old "pro tip" floating around the web for ages. The potential performance benefit is really small and as general measure it's never recommended to change the priority of games. A well optimized game takes all the resources it needs anyway and such measures shouldn't be needed.

If you right click the vid and go to stats for nerds you can see the content loudness is -32.8db which is incredibly low, which is why this video is so hard to hear lol sick guide tho man! thanks for doin this!

For some odd reason whenever I start up L4D2 now, it says I have -insecure in the launch options, preventing me from joining regular VAC servers. However I have looked back in properties and noticed that nothing relating to that is typed out in launch options Is there a way to fix this?

Hoping to get some info commenting on an older thread. I did everything but autoexec and my display is flickering slightly. I'm running on dual gtx770 in sli and the only thing I have setup different is enabling multiple cores due to my setup. Any advice to get the flickering to go away?

i have zero experience with SLI and l4d2 so it's hard to say, maybe try each gtx770 individually just to see

@@prsto I noticed putting the game into full-screen with all added settings gave me 200+fps, however I get the screen flicker. With it in windowed-borderless mode I got 80fps average. Reset to default settings and just doing full screen, with some graphics lowered, I was able to achieve 120 steady fps with zero flickering. Thank you for the help!

config.cfg does not = autoexec.cfg autoexec.cfg is specific regarding commands that will run at the start of every time you launch the game

Hey, how does ping work in pro matches? I see the ping is shit for one team and great for the other, and then the next round they swap? when two teams of different geographic locations play each other they can 1) play 1 game on a server where they both get equal (probably shit) ping, or 2) play a game on one team's server and then a game on the other's server (as long as average pings are relatively equal). The scores from both games are basically added, or a team can call gg at any point they want (such as losing on their home server)

To new comers, Do NOT use -high launch parm. This command basically sets your game affinity to high and that can easily back fire with overall system instability ( you make your game hog more of the cpu power than it needs ).
