@@kalurammeena5155 I feel you're talking about the Area of rect. : 2X*2Y i.e. 4XY = A Now, Considering the equation of ellipse, X²+4Y²=1 So it will be convenient to consider the Area Of rectangle: A As A² so that we get the area in terms of X² or Y² Upon finding that, If you can substitute the term Y² from the equation of ellipse and put it in the Equation of Area Of rectangle. We can easily find out the maxima point.

Bro firstly I solved by same as u discribed bt I got wrong ans. Nt.same as sir solved Bt when I tried with different way ... that's polar coordinates X=acos(theta) ,Y =bsin(theta)...and draw a rectangle about origins ...then I solved ..

@@knightknight9219 you take the vertices of rectangle on ellipse as AcosX,BsinX Where A=1 & B=1/2 So A=2cosX sinX ------* Now take for max. Area (dy/dx)=0 You got X=45 degree Now put the value of X in Equation * Then you get the value is 1 unit square

Sir, In last question if we take side of rectangle for simplicity x=(x/2+x/2) and y=(y/2+y/2) Means side of rectangle x and y then answer is .25 Why?????

in this case u are taking x/2 and y/2 so your area will will be x.y/4 ,which means that is the area of quarter rectangle. multiply it by 4 and u will get the area for whole rectangle which is 1.

Then sir took 2x ,2y.. area 4xy In this case we should devide by 4...

If you want to use x/2 instead of x then you need to apply correction in ellipse equation also . You need to put X=x/2 and Y=y/2 in equation of ellipse. Further you can continue in similar manner as sir continued . I hope it would help you . Thank you

Ellipse is symmetrical about the origin and the vertices of the rectangle is on the ellipse ( given )

SIR , In 2nd problem of this video, after solving of equation (rt-s^2) >0, for checking MINIM or MAXIM sir you have taken only (r) , then what about (t) why did you not take (t) for checking maxim or minim ? PLZ reply as soon

only 'r' has to be checked for the condition of maxima and minima i.e r>0(min) & r0 for the validity of the concept if it is less than zero than saddle point occurs!

Sir in first question can we go through options we differentiate one time and then put the point which point is satisfied or not After first differentiate we get 4x + 2y and only (0,0) and (1/6, -1/3) Is satisfied can we apply this method ????

Kirti Kanajiya it doesn't matter if you take f(x) or f(x) squared you will still get maximum

If 2 > 1, then for sure square of 2> square of 1.

@@shashankshanbhag8529 u r wrong. f(x) squared will be maximum for both minimum and maximum values of f(x). e.g. 2 and -2 both have their square as 4. But here in this question, it doesn't matter because area can't be negative so the value of f(x) will always be positive. This is an explicit case which Sir could have mentioned. His way of solving is just short trick to simplify the calculation but for other functions taking f(x) or f(x) squared will not be the same.
