Well I'm a School Choir Conductor, it all started when I joined the School Choir back in Grade 8 and I met a really great conductor who was also my teacher at that time, and he really inspired me to keep on joining in all the Choir Performances in our school. In Grade 9 we actually won a chorale competition against other branches of our school, us being in 1st place, and at that moment I knew I wanted to become just like him. Then the pandemic struck and I wasn't able to do choir for almost 2 years, me and my Conductor Chatted one time during the pandemic and he said that soon I was going to Continue the Choir in our school, and I took it personally and held it close to my heart. Then I found out 1 year later he was not teaching in my school anymore, it made me really sad, Then 1 year later I was now a Grade 12 student, I didn't expected I was going to be a Conductor, I just expected that I was just going to help lead the Choir not conduct it. and now at my Last year in Senior Year in High School, I was able to Build a brand new Army of Choir Singers and we did lots of performances throughout the School year and for our first Choir Competition against other branches of our school, we won 2nd place, which wasn't too bad for a beginner and other branches had Teacher Conductors who are experienced, so it wasn't that bad. And all of this is because of my Conductor who inspired me to conduct, I finally understood what he meant by "Continuing the Choir" he was passing the torch to me, Because in Grade 9 which was back in 2019-2020 I was the only 9th Grader in our Choir back then, the rest of the choir members are 10th, 11th, and 12th Graders which 2 years later all of them already graduated. And now I'm having my last performance with my Choir in our incoming Graduation and I will soon be passing on the Torch to someone new. Nice Video Love from Philippines 🇵🇭

I'm a conductor myself, and I conduct because it was the natural talent that bloomed from my inspiration of watching my band directors, and watching composers conduct. I was never formally taught by a teacher. I wasn't really the best at the clarinet. But through my entire musical life, I have never been more proud of my own skill. Murray, you have a mindset that I also have. You don't have to be a good musician to be a conductor. That also goes with just teaching in general. Your lessons don't always have to be the greatest. But as long as the kids walk out with a happy attitude, and an expanded mind, you did a good job, and you can leave, knowing the kids learned that day. And you also learned about the kids themselves. What a wonderful video. :)
