Hey Gøran! Thanks so much for the shout-out, I'm sure to pick up a few subs. Actually this is the second nice endorsement I've had this week - I'm up to 300 subs now - and I'm very grateful. Incidentally, I think in your place I'd shim up the height of the saw. Thanks again.

Hi there. At 3.50 you talk about no fine adjustment for the 90 degree angle. Have you set up the cam stops for the 90 and 45 degree Angles? Or have you already done this but the saw gives varying results. Nice tutorial by the way.
@NomadMakes
@NomadMakes 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I was not referring to the cams. They are for calibrating the saw. What I meant was an ability to change any angle with a high level of control. On cabinet saws you swivel a wheel to do this. A workaround that was suggested to me was to push on the motor from the side with one hand. Anyways. Great observation. And thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.

Awesome video, thanks !! Lots of interesting stuff, I'll have to watch it again. Love those wooden thingies you made to push your object forward. I assume they have a piece of coarse sandpaper on the bottom ? And could you please elaborate how to do the error ratio measurements and calculation ?
@NomadMakes
@NomadMakes 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I guess you refer to the "push blocks"? There is grip tape under them, like used in stairs to prevent people from slipping. I guess it should be readily available at any home store. Here is the video where I made them: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6ush5qvebJ2m6M I used the 5-cut-metod to square up the sled. I make a decent attempt at explaining it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rH69hZqOZt9nsM0 Cheers! And thanks for watching and commenting :D

Nice video. Does the small blade is a problem for you ? The previous model (7480) was a 10 inch blade. With the sled, you also lost one inch. What do you think ?
@NomadMakes
@NomadMakes 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! The bottom plate of this sled is 12mm so I loose half an inch. This saw has a 65mm cutting capacity the 254mm blades (10 inch) is just 70mm in cutting capacity. So, the loss is only 5mm. I have never had a larger saw. If you see my older videos you can see that I used to use a circular saw screwed up-side-down into a table. If you think about re-sawing you get 65x2 so 130mm capacity. I guess you can always wish for a larger capacity, but this one is good enough for me.

Hi. Great video. Unfortunately, I made similar sled, but rail slots have width difference, from one end to middle about 0.7mm. So sled moves hard. If I sand rails to much, they will move right-left-right. Do you have any advice? Tnx!

Recently I've build one for my saw (i have the same model as You) still need to check it for acurate squarenes. I've added stop block with a self made t-track that way i can make repetitive cuts without clamps. Have You used bee wax from Coop Bygg 😁? Btw where in Norway you live? I'm from Tananger.
@NomadMakes
@NomadMakes 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I have not tried their bees wax, and now I have made my own frow wax, boiled lindseed oil and terpentine. I live in Bergen :-) Using a t-track like that seems like a really good idea. And if you want to check your sled for accuracy, I have a video on the 5 cut method here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rH69hZqOZt9nsM0 Cheers, and tanks for watching and commenting.

Hey! Great video - you’ve earned yourself a subscriber. I have a couple of questions though. I’m relatively new to woodworking and living in Stavanger but I don’t know where to look for hardwood. The big DIY stores like Obs Bygg for instance have the plywood and pine hobby boards but I don’t know where to look for things like walnut and oak etc. Second question: where did you get the wax for the cross cut sled? I’m not sure where to look for that either and haven’t had much luck asking in the shops. Do you have a particular supplier or shop you recommend? Tusen takk!
@NomadMakes
@NomadMakes 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! For hardwood I generally check Finn.no and local suppliers. In Stavanger there is at least 1 maybe 2 suppliers. I don’t remember the names. But check in the facebook group «Møbelsnekker i Norge». The wax I used in this video is Liberon furniture wax. I got it at a local hardware store. Gustavsen.no has a good selection of woodworking stuff if you want a Norwegian online store.

I am looking to buy this Saw. If money or space wasn’t an issue would you still buy this small saw over the larger dwe7491rs?
@NomadMakes
@NomadMakes 3 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for asking. I do not know the 7491, but I have looked at the 7492. More than space or money, I would ask if you really need the mobility this saw offers. If not, I would go for the larger DWE7492. Also, I suggest checking out my review of this saw: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZKoo4WIj9uDkMU Here I go more in-depth into just what you are asking for.
