I got a Singer darning foot, but i'm not sure about if it fits on your mashine and if this shank is correct.

Great video, thank you! I tried FMQ on my 503(Rocketeer) with disastrous results. I did not realize that the 500 & 503 are not the best choice for FMQ, so I am going to try on my 301. I have the BIG FOOT FMQ attachment for slant machines. Have you had any experience with the Big Foot attachment? Any advice on the use? Thanks in advance.

So where do you get the free motion foot for an older machine? I have an older spare machine -a Kenmore Ultra Stitch 6. I ordered a short shank adapter and purchased a 1/4 inch foot but what do i need to quilt on that machine and where to get it please?

To use the quilting foot do you have to disengage the feed dogs or have one of those plates that screws into the base of the harp (covering the feed dogs with a thin sheet of metal)? - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve, Ottawa/Bytown

No, the 301 has a black knob under the throat that will lower the feed dogs.
