Thank you so much. I have worked on multiple mission trips to central America where I was assigned to the sterilization area. I have scrubbed and sterilized hundreds of these instruments. Good job for me because I like to pay attention to details. I am not a hygienist and most were so busy they never had time to tell me what all of these are called. Very useful to me! Thank you. 👍

The thing about I’m not understanding is, does the dentist tell you “Hey, pass me the explorer” or you have to know what to pass based on what he is doing? Can you explain this please!
@queenaaqueen47074 жыл бұрын
It’s always doctors preference if your new into the dentistry they will tell you what they need. If you been in the field some doctors will expect for you to know and just hand it over. Others will grab them themselves. If this happens they will expect for you to put the instruments they need on the doctors side and they can just grab. Some office have prepaid try’s for each procedure makes it apt easier but it’s always good to know your instrument it will take a while.
@aelo184 жыл бұрын
QueenA&A Queen Oh ok, it kind of looks easy, is learning the instruments hard?
@moorenatasha584 жыл бұрын
It depends on the dentist. And if the dentist has a preference they will let you know. It's not too difficult to learn. I went to a trade school for 14 weeks and as long as you study, you will be fine.
@ashleykolakowski29814 жыл бұрын
A CA it’s not easy at all, at least in the beginning. I just finished a dental assistant program, and I’m working full time as a dental assistant. But it’s harder than it looks, instruments take awhile to learn. There’s much more instruments than what is show in the video. Not only do you need to know what the names of the instruments are, but you need to know what they’re used for. As well as every procedure step, so you know when to hand which instruments to the dentist. I still don’t know all of them, let’s just say that.
@stacycarrillo23234 жыл бұрын
A CA you are coming off ride. I've been in dental 38 years and every Dr does the procedúrrs different. You are expected to know what Dr will need befóre he needs it. I I can read x-rays and know what they need before they see xray. Some are just assholes narcissistic I'm the Dr I just left an office where a new doc went around saying to my co workers that I was incompetent only because I knew when he was being unethical and the new kid didn't. It's a very stressful job. So don't be rude there are a million other things to know them specialty endo., ÓS, Perio, Ortho, Pedo, prosthodontist, cosmetic, implant. Etc. I've trained all the assistants for the past 23 years, and I try tó shield the new ones and tell the Dr nock it off but can't always shield them. Out of 5 new 2 or 3 stay. I don't blame them.
And we use the spoon for digging out very decayed tooth matter.,
