These are so much fun to learn from, I love your style of diagraming and explaining!

Kelly!! Found you in level two in 2021 and I’m almost done my level 4. Going to write the red seal soon even though I have many hour left to work before I get my certification. Just letting you know that I’m back to watching your videos as a way to study for my exam (boy do I need to review DWV! I don’t use the code much as a service plumber) Thank you for being a great teacher and part of my review. 🥳

Ontario code 2015 has this fixture unit table on 7.4.9.3

I do believe Ontario is still using their own gas code, not all provinces have aligned with gas or plumbing code practices. A shame really, we should have one. (Even the States have more than one code)

Great video 👏👏👏👏 If possible ,would you please teach us wet venting and if possible solving venting and drainage pipe size in commercial buildings ,just I am preparing myself for IP exam .
@MathematicPlumber3 жыл бұрын
The wet venting series is in production right now. As for the commercial drainage, I have multiple series dealing with them already. (circuit venting, vent stacks, rainwater leaders)

Is the building drain not supposed to be 4” minimum based on code rules?
@MathematicPlumber8 ай бұрын
2.4.9.4 Building drains and building sewers connected to the public sewer system downstream of the main cleanout (see Sentence 2.4.7.1.(6)) shall be not less than 4 inches in size. Keywords: 'downstream of the main clean out' and 'connected to the public sewer system' Therefore, the building drain upstream of the main CO can be 3". This also means that if I connect to a 'private sewage system' I can also be 3" for the building sewer or building drain. You would need to ensure all other code requirements are met too.
@denvercharlebois6998 ай бұрын
Oh okay. So anything past the clean out can be 3”? I’m in plumbing school in Ontario and was just told that 4” is minimum until it goes vertical on a stack then it goes to 3” minimum

Thanks for the tips

@@denvercharlebois699What I gave you was a direct quote from the NPC. There may be an Ontario amendment that I am not aware of. (I am in Alberta) There of course is nuance in the code. If you had 3 or more water closets draining into the building drain, then you would need to size that pipe at 4" as soon as it travels nominally horizontal.

Hi Kelli are you located in Toronto? Going to be writing my CFQ looking for a tutor

Alberta, but I don't do any tutoring. I teach full time and that leaves me with very limited time.

If you make some videos in blue print and manholes and calculating risers ,It will be great .
@MathematicPlumber3 жыл бұрын
@@dominiquepierre916 I don't foresee any blueprinting videos in the future. If you want to get good at reading blueprints, you need to get your hands on a real set of prints, and study them. That is the only way to get comfortable with them. As for orthographic and isometric drawings, I might do some videos on them, but it is very low on the priority list. I will eventually make a video covering cleanout codes and locations, but manholes only get an honourable mention in the code. I barely mention them in my class. Most plumbers never deal with manholes. What do you mean by calculating risers?

@@MathematicPlumber Calculating the elevation of the pipes , It is second year of plumbing in blue print . I remember there were several questions of those in IP exam.
