I once heard that the reason why Thai and other Southeast Asian languages are so curvy and flowy is that the scripts are derived from writing on leaves. Curvy lines go very well with writing on leaves. The Roman alphabet and numerals are likely carved into stone. And the Chinese characters are likely painted on paper with soft brushes.

Wow i like your penmanship so neat and clean. I just started learning Thai a week ago. Started with writing and reading. Right now I'm into reading primary books online. I can read 3-4 letters easily and the rest make me dizzy. I also watch comprehensive input in youtube and during free time i watch Thai movie with out a sub. I haven't tried speaking yet. Cause still struggling with vowels. I agree with you not to rush in Learning Thai cause i myself don't want to rush things in learning the language. I am so happy in a small progress I'm doing and that keeps me going. Hope we can be friends in social so that we can have a little chat in Thai❤ Thanks for all your video Take care

Your dedication is captivating! Slowly but surely, you'll come to read long pieces of text, and it will feel so good. I started out hating reading Thai, and now, it's like my favorite thing to do. Keep going, and I know one day, you'll be killing it with Thai 😉. Unfortunately, I do not have social media, just KZbin. I would have loved to be buddies on there. Anyways, wishing you all the very best on your journey. สู้ๆนะค่ะ 💪💝

Alr so im not a "absolute beginner" like i know how to greet n ask a few questions n how to respond but im def not an intermediate learner and let me js tell you it's not so many people tryna learn thai like "korean" so when i come across a channel that just surrounds themselves around the thai languge it makes me feel so good im literaly that learner where i start and in like 2 weeks i stop so your videos modivate me SOOOOOOOO much to the point where ima try gettin me a iPad and 1-2 thai books for my upcoming bday i always said i wouldn't i wouldnt learn how to read n thai cuz the alphabet is SOOO hard n i focused so much on just speaking but your videos and also (Juni the Polyogist)[she also speaks AMAZING thai] yall make me realize SO MUCH CONS of not learning how to read/sound out words pls keep up ur videos u inspire me SO much xoxo

It really hurts my heart when I hear or see online that some learners give up after a couple of weeks, and all I wanna say to them if I have a chance is that, there is no need to overwhelm yourself in the beginning because that's what leads to the burn out and stress that drives you to quit. It's happened to me several times years ago. What I would advise is that don't dive in too fast into language. Whatever impressed your heart to want to learn the language should be your why to learn the language. I always say that it's super important to take it easy in the beginning. The time for speed, trust me, is when you're at upper beginner because the doubts I get are super wild. Get the iPad, get the books if they will motivate you. A tip, though, is to try to learn to read and write Thai first, and if you wanna move on with Thai, you can go all out. I bought so many books bc I was pressured by Instagram in the past, and I've barely opened them. In fact, some of the languages I don't learn any longer. There are amazing resources to help you learn to read and write Thai. Find those, find some free resources and get the basics down. Then you can buy all the books you want. You might even find along the way that you might not even need textbooks. I'm rooting for you, and I hope you get to have fun on this journey like I am 💖💖💖 Sending you lots of love and support ❤️ สู้ๆน่ะค่าา

I really enjoyed this video! I’ve been to Thailand so many times but only a few months ago decided to try and get a grip with learning Thai to try and eventually reach a semi-competent conversational level. One of the problems has been there are sooooo many resources out there and it can be information overload, and if the fun goes out of learning, so does the motivation. Yesterday I started with the alphabet using the 50 minute video that you recommended, although I’ve spent at least that long on the first two sections, but it’s good to be able to write, even if it is only about five random words at the moment. My writing is nowhere near as beautiful as yours though!

This is an incredibly engaging and informative video! These are really useful methods I can implement into my daily life conversations. Currently I am making good use of Ling and Pocket Thai Master apps to fully grasp the Thai language. They're fantastic language learning apps and perfect for anyone looking to master a new language at their own pace. If you have any proper recommendations you'd like to make, please feel free to let me know. Thank you.

I'm really glad you got some value from the video! I think you've got it down, especially if you're already using Ling. It was my main resource from beginning to upper intermediate. Watching KZbin videos and reading were what helped me to improve speaking and comprehension after and even during Ling.

I write pretty slowly when I'm taking notes and journaling compared to when I'm just writing randomly. Don't worry about messing up. That happens before it gets better 😊

Mangolanguages is also amazing, but you need a library card to access it for completely free. I've had that for years, and there is no need to re-access after the first time. These are the only two apps I used, and then the Easy Thai textbook and KZbin.

Do you really recommend the Ling app for intermediate learners? I'm almost done with Thai for Intermediate Learners and I don't know how else to keep going. I'm not sure wether I should get the next book or start using apps such as Ling to improve my vocabulary (it's quite bad haha). I'm considering subscribing to Ling...

Depending on your goals and how you study, I can't really choose what option. A textbook was perfect for me at the beginner level because it gave me the structure I needed. Beyond that level, textbooks became overwhelming for me, and it got hard to stick to learning Thai. Using Ling really fit my study needs so I'll advice you to try it and if it meets your needs, then totally go for it. I've been using the Ling app since the start of my journey, and I will 100% recommend it to any Thai learner 💞

Hey can you share your handwriting notes of this video? I tried to watch it but it is really fast and little bit blurry.
@anaellekylyn
@anaellekylyn 5 ай бұрын
No problem. 1. Learn the Thai alphabet 2. Learn to read/sound the Thai tones 3. Learn basic Thai phrases 4. Learn basic Thai grammar 5. Get a tutor I'm not quite sure if this is the answer to your request. Also, you can try increasing the resolution in your settings if the video is blurry, and you can also slow the video down, too, and that should help. Thanks for watching, and I'm wishing you all the best! สู้ๆนะค่ะ 💪

Hi, i’m sorry for writing up this comment late i apologise but i have a question to you. Are there any other languages that you wanna learn or you speak instead of english and thai? thanks for the video borahae💜💜💟💟
@anaellekylyn
@anaellekylyn Жыл бұрын
There's no need to apologize, dear. The 2nd language I learned after English was Italian. I've been learning Korean for a few years now, but ever since I started learning Thai, I put that on the side. I want to get to a comfortable level with Thai before I get back to that. I wanna learn Chinese, Spanish, Norwegian, and a few others (Indonesian/Tagalog/Hindi 🤷‍♀️). Besides English, I know two other languages, including my native dialect. I also grew up speaking French, but I can't really anymore. I hope that answers your question, and you're welcome 💜💜💝💝💝

@@anaellekylyn thanks for your anwsers. I wish you archive your goals. And i've been to italy with my zero italian. I guess i should have taken you with me:) Besides your videos makes me study. I'm a Turkish person who speak english, spanish and a little japanese. After I improve my spanish and my japanese, i want to learn bulgarian, russian, korean, thai, french, chinese and italian. Some of them that i want to learn for fun or the culture that i'm in to. But i want to learn bulgarian, russian and french just to feel close to my grandparents. Anyway i guess i just talked too much. So again thanks so so so much about your comment be happy 💖💖💜💜💟💟💝💝

@@anaellekylyngoodluck if you ever come to learn tagalog, i heard learners have a difficult time learning our conjugation base on the focus of the sentence. I'm currently learning japanese and planning to learn thai, but looking at the thai alphabet, i think i better have a better grasp of kanji first before jumping to another language with an entirely different writing system. Thai alphabet intimidates me haha.
