Controller only based movement will never be quite organic, you need an elliptical pattern, I have a whole series of walkers/leg designs woody, if you are interested in checking them out?

It was seeing a few of yours that made me double certain I wanted to try, prototyping avoiding the elliptical pattern if possible and just seeing what is possible out of the controller alone. But I will definitely keep having a look at the stuff you make for sure

11:25 instead of cactuses, use mannequin legs (boots). They have even higher friction and are more durable to boot (pun intended)

Walkers are tricky. There's a reason why Boston Dynamics not too long ago released basically the first commercially feasible walker and not earlier and why there aren't more out there. I'd begin with even more legs, probably 8 like a spider, 2 basically right in the front, 2 also in the front but a bit offset diagonally, meaning to the back and side, 2 on the side and 2 like the 2nd pair but towards the back for better stability and traction. Only issue and reason why I likely don't build one is, I'd burnout because of all the wiring and troubleshooting ;P Also with 8 legs, You have so many more possibilities regarding the sequencing, which can make it easier or confuse even more CD I'd sequence it like first front and back legs, than the side legs, since it's the most basic though a bit unstable compared to other sequences, because when the weight is on both front legs, it might tilt, since they are closer together than all the other pairs. Anyhow, good luck! ;)

Tbh when I built an original test I put each leg on its own controller, easier to wire and trouble shoot then as you know exactly what you are looking at. They aren't that difficult to make when you look at nature and break things down into possible scrap mechanic joints, and there are much more complex things out there, but this was something I wanted to achieve tbh

@@wo0dy sure, but I'm having issues how the nodes and wires overlap and stuff and that there is 0 contrast, not even outline and the nodes are so big, You can't even see to what You're actually connecting to half of the time, that's why I tend to not use too many sensors and stuff and prolly that's why the first thing that came to my mind, when I saw You slim pressure plate, was to not use a piston xD But sure, step by step will get You there eventually ^^ (Kinda fitting to the topic ;))
