Let the computer perform the procedural math and let us learn and teach the meaning behind the mathematics and expand our minds and our students' to focus on mathematical implications and inferences. Does it matter that the Ho/Ha did not cover all possible outcomes? A result with a p value of 0.15 would not fall into either the null or alternative hypothesis as they were written. What would we say in that situation? Do we reject the null and also reject the alternative, or should we have made a null hypothesis of p0.3?
