You forgot one point, which may be not very important, but still is a factor - Erytheia is a Greek nation of two origins, Arcoscephalian and Theodorian. Which means they have Greek national summons, mainly Daktyloi who are Master Smiths and Keledones who would be the very dream of the every communion master if not their map movement 2...

The dragons have one big advantage over Drakons, they can fly... Flying (combined with higher map movement) makes them much more mobile and allow them to reach provinces in one turn that the Drakon could never hope to do, and such makes expanding with them more effective as they can almost always reach the province they need to go to in one turn. Pretenders with flying are also very hard to kill in combat as they can easily retreat by flying away if they start to lose while a Drakon might get surrounded and killed off. Frost and fire dragons also have very powerful breath attacks that can kill whole groups of units in one attack. I also think you are a little too focused on always taking growth 3, growth 3 is good of course, but if taking it forces you to limit your cap recruitment because you lack resources or recruitment points you are generally better off dropping growth a little to maximize your cap recruitment (especially true if you have good cap only sacreds). Having growth 1 or 2 also allow you to take advantage of thrones that adds to your growth, and those are pretty common.

I haven't tried them yet myself, but I was told that there's a bunch of unrest events that trigger if you haven't any princes and princesses as King and Queen, so there's a sort of 'buy in' cost of princes and princesses to maintain stability.

Acually, it is positive event. At the start of the game you can buy 3.5 sacreds and have enough money for mage. I usually buy prince. When prince is build event is triggered that require princess. When you build princess you get some guifts and they both become H3, king and queen. If you do not build princess right away you get some unrest. Not a big deal. Other events are that other siblings woud try to kill each other. This is just flavour as it is very rare. Erytheia is great nation to play.

Reinvigoration is always good, especially here given that your heavy-duty mages are sacred and your sacred troops are pretty encumbered.

A possible plus for mermen hoplites is that since their gear is bronze you don't have to worry as much if they get tagged by one of your acid spells plus their protection is high enough that they'll take tolerable damage from any non-armor negating spell.

Extreme example, if you have an army of merman hoplites and cast acid storm suddenly everyone except your hoplites are fighting in their skivvies.

do the sea nations in this game have a way to flood coastal provinces to turn them into sea territory? could be kool. of course some counter magic for the rest to raise land back above water lvl or cause volcano to create fresh island would only be fair

The reason triton knights are so resource cheap is because so much of their equipment is essentially early age gear. It's good early age gear (besides the bronze spear), but it's early age gear. Bronze cap, Bronze hauberk, Bronze spear, and turtle shell shield, these are all generally low resource items for recruitables to have. I still think 25 is a little low, but that might be the main contributor to that affect.

I think Triton Knights are low resources because they're using bronze equipment instead of Iron, which I suppose takes less effort to create. Maybe?

The fuck? The hoplon is one meter from edge to edge, how is it small?

Historical hoplons are very large shields, yes, but Dominions uses the word 'hoplon' to refer to a relatively small round shield - you can see them on the sprite - with a parry value of 4, smaller than a kite shield (parry 6) or tower shield (parry 7). Why this is I don't honestly know.

I suppose, but I don't think hoplites having a bigger shield would particularly unbalance the game. Just one of many little quirks of Dominions I suppose!
