You will also learn how to differentiate and use imperfective and perfective verbs by practicing them through short stories and exercises. There are several video tutorials on this grammar concept. It’s recommended to start from the very beginning to get the whole picture.
The videos are made for students of the high-beginning level (A-2); however, they can be useful for anyone who needs clarification, better understanding and practice in using the verbs in context.

l love these videos and the methods you use.. your warm voice, the soft music and excellent production quality make these lessons so much more enjoyable. More enjoyable - More eager to do them. More eager to do them - do them longer and with more attention to detail.. winning formula. Excellent. Today, for the first time I felt as if I was making progress.. it was such a good feeling.

Большое спасибо за ваше видео. This was one of the first videos I watched, when I started learning Russian some time ago - just to get an overview over the grammar. After that, I used other resources to learn lots of vocabulary and the pronunciation. In the meantime, I forgot some details about this aspect thing and only now truly realize how good, especially with respect to other channels, these videos / slides / explanations are. ... The concept of perfect / imperfect is also common in other European languages, even though there, both aspects are integrated into one verb and the correct usage often has been forgotten or changed, especially in everyday spoken language. Even though for Spanish past tense, I mean to remember, that it has the exact same rules to distinguish between imperfecto (imperfect past) and preterito (perfect past), and it is also used accordingly in every day spoken language.

The exercises to do together are ambigious. Both options can go so what is the point? What did I miss? Марк читает газету or марк прочитал газету are both fine right?
@bobotie2721
@bobotie2721 3 жыл бұрын
Look at the photos to decide which option to choose, in the first it's Марк читает газету because he is currently reading it. Марк прочитал газету implies that he finished the newspaper :)
@MaksymMinenko

Марк читает газету = Mark is reading a newspaper. Марк прочитал газету = Mark has read a newspaper. Марк вчера читал газету = (I saw) Mark was reading a newspaper yesterday.

Seems like NCV verbs are like the present simple plus all of the -ing verbs in English and the CV verbs are more like the past simple. Is it the case that я читал = "I was reading", but you didn't finish it or maybe you were interrupted, whereas я прочитал means you read it to completion? I'd also like clarify their use in the future. Я буду читать = "I will be reading" and я прочитаю = "I will have read", right?

@AmazingRussian

I do not quite understand the question. Can you be more specific? The concept is that most of the verbs are paired. You cannot change that. It’s the rule.

Sophie Simard , the old video with 1,5K likes was deleted with all the comments - tons of positive and your negative ones as well. This video is new. Take at look at the date of its publication. FYI, I do not have to justify myself here. If your purpose is to hurt me, you are wasting your time. You might want to do something worthwhile instead. How about making a good video for your students and share it on KZbin. Best regards.

Thank you for your response, I appreciate you taking time to make things transparent. I am glad you incorporated changes in your new edition. And no, hurting you was COMPLETELY NOT my goal, please believe and trust me. I have several books written for my students, but I am not posting on Internet, as we all have our own preferences, right? With Internet lessons such as yours, my main problem is the variety of different interpretations, many of which confuse learners even further. Po tipu kto vo chto gorazd....Yet, every Internet teaching specialist thinks that their interpretation is the one and only valid one. It is nothing personal, please forgive me if writing on-line did not allow me to show you my friendliness in full. Best regards. @@AmazingRussian
