Basic setup: OsmAnd for Android & iOS (versions 4.3)

My checklist for the basic steps to take before using OsmAnd Maps & Navigation on Android and iOS devices. The two app versions are similar, though not exact.

OsmAnd, like OSM, is pretty deep, feature-rich, hence steep learning curve.

Agreed.. The two often go together: more features = steeper curve

Why would anybody want to export a profile to a phone contact? Exporting something normally goes to a drive...
