Muchísimas gracias por tus maravillosas vídeos y tu simpatía y amabilidad. Como recién iniciado en esto de la pintura me encuentro con el problema de que he visto videos tuyos de diferentes técnicas aplicadas individualmente a una miniatura (lavados, luces, pincel seco) pero luego no sé como aplicarlas juntas en una misma mini. Por eso, este video me ha parecido muy bueno, ya que se usan tres técnicas a la vez a un nivel fácil. Me encantaría que hicieras más vídeos de este estilo, es decir, con las técnicas que usarías si quisieras que alguien que empieza vaya progresando poco. No sé si me he explicado bien, en cualquier caso, muchísimas gracias de verdad por tu trabajo y por tu simpatía y cariño a la hora de transmitirlo.

La veladura es un filtro, es teñir el color, y el lavado es sombrear los recovecos :)

Buenas técnicas, estoy utilizando las express color para lo mismo, como tienen buena pigmentación dejan veladuras muy bonitas y obtienes el efecto con menos pasadas. Saludos Ángel!!

I still dont understand what the difference between wash and glaze is. Is it the translucent part? Pls someone help 😅 or the fact that the glaze doesn't darken as much

I can try but I'm no expert. The consistency is often quite similar as in thinned, translucent, easily flowing paint. Its almost more the technique that's different. With a wash you'll usually load your brush quite heavily with the intention of applying a lot of thin paint so that it runs into recesses and shades them like the step where he puts black into the gaps in the necrons legs. With a glaze you unload the brush more (say on paper towel) so when you apply the paint you can control it and it basically stays where you apply it rather than flooding the area and pooling in recesses. In other words you're applying a normal layer of paint in a controlled way... but it's thin enough to be translucent... like the bit where he puts the green glow on the silver ribs of the necron to create a glow effect. So glazes can be used to tint or alter an area in a controlled way (for glow effects or you can use multiple layers of glaze to smoothly blend a highlight or shade) washes are used to pick out the shadows and recesses.

@Meuchlor Basically. I think actual 'washes' tend to be lower pigment so they don't stain the upper areas heavily and there's big contrast with the recesses. People tend to make glazes by thinning regular paint which is stronger colour. You can use manufactured washes like a glaze by unloading the brush all the same it's just very subtle (for example a lot of people use seraphim sepia wash as a glaze as part of the "muzzle burn" effect with a blue and then purple glaze.
