For the people that have been in and done their time this is not for you. If you are going in and worried dont worry just dont give up and do your best you will get through the standards have kinda gone down so you can definitely make it. If you're going in and think this is too easy then do a year or 2 then try out for a selection rangers, Special forces, civil affairs or psyops. Or go to schools or get a place that have special schools like Hawaii with jungle school for example. Go to air assault school. Ranger school, airborne school, pathfinder, sapper. Get your expert infantryman badge. There is alot of suck and toughness for you to try for that you wont get in other branches. If your thinking about joining the infantry get a high asvab as possible. You can request duty stations ones with alot of opportunities and great aiports nearby are places like Italy, Alaska, Hawaii, Korea, Germany, Kentucky. No branch is as big and no branch does more. Get after it and have a strong mindset

@spayd7695 Жыл бұрын
This is my comment to everyone down in the comment section and future viewers to see, and my personal perspective on the way basic training is now in the Army, so you do not have to agree of course. 1.) I know that the title of the video has some people talking over Fort Benning being called Fort Moore, and honestly if you graduated from Fort Benning before the name change, I thank you all for making the history of such a historic place and your service for however long you have or were in. I do not feel that a name change should affect the way we feel about a place, let alone a place where brotherhoods and memories were made for the time we were there, even after we've left. I understand that for some of you, you did not like the name change, and that's understandable, however, we should not let that define what Fort Benning or Fort Moore (whatever you want to call it) gave to us. | 2.) I know basic training was not like it was in the past, however, I can tell you from personal experience from the reality within this video that our Drill Sergeants did not baby us around. While they would get relaxed over the course of time, they still did not hesitate to smoke the life out of us and curse you out when you were messed up. While I understand it may not necessarily be at the same scale it was in previous eras, they definitely do not baby you whatsoever, and will tell you straightforward that they can and will send you home without a second thought. | 3. I understand we all have different beliefs in everything, especially politically, and while I'm sure some of you don't agree with some of our current military leaders, we all know one thing for certain. That is our love of the Army, regardless of our different beliefs, and we should not downplay our beloved branch of service. We all came into the Army for various reasons, but we can never forget what we shared in the Army, and it is that the Army gave us a second life and family to look up to. A lineage we should be proud of, and a future we should all be supporting, no matter what.

Correct. I was at Benning in 2021 D-2/19. We are not seeing the morning formations, the fuckery by the drill sergeants (lock your damn locker), the exercises in the sleeping areas. Since it was covid, we were officially not allowed to learn grapples/hand to hand combat, but a DS ensured we did (at least our platoon). What we are seeing is the technical stuff, the “main events,” so to speak. Between all this, there were smoke sessions, that I can promise you.

No guidance whatsoever, so instead of getting physical therapy for my leg I was given a physical where they discovered a blood disorder I “failed to mention during enlistment” and was chaptered out. @spayd7695 Жыл бұрын
The Drill Sergeants progressively become more relaxed as the cycle goes along, depending on how you and everyone in your platoon and company acts. For Red Phase, they'll seem strict, but they're really just trying to instill discipline into you all and give you the understanding that it is a part of being a soldier. From my experience, it's not this badass, hardcore training that some might expect, but they're definitely not babying you and they'll make it known. As for the smoke sessions, it varies from drill sergeant to drill sergeant, you'll have one who smokes you like there is no tomorrow and others that'll only smoke you for like a minute, depending on what it is they're smoking you for. I would say altogether to go for what it is you're trying to do, and don't let what others say influence you into not joining, it's definitely worth it and it will take you a long way.

6 months OSUT
@erics2091 Жыл бұрын
Basic training plus AIT can takes months to over a year depending on MOS. This is the Infantry MOS’. They do OSUT (One Station Unit Training). So instead of basic training then going to another base for AIT, they stay at the same base for it all.

I thought there was no swimming portion required?
@rosadel1329 Жыл бұрын
It is not required for regular basic training. Fort Moore is normally for soldiers coming in to be officers. They have to do a separate boot camp or do two basic trainings back to back. Fort Moore combines the two. That is why this boot camp video shows water combat, it is for officer training phase one and two. Officers also have an 18 day mission, regular basic training will not have that either.
