Very interesting to see the contrast between the US and Canada. Biggest difference would be in Canada they are training a very small, specialized force. Also amazing is the wide range of ages. When I was at Fort Dix, many moons ago, the oldest guy in the platoon was 22 and he stood out as an oldster.

The fact that this show is watered down is having the reverse effect on me than they intended. I don't expect military training to be easy and I don't want it to be easy, I want to see how hard it is and how much I'll be pushed and challenged.

Cant take any of it personally you will never be good enough for the military, it is the job of drill instructors to scrutinize everything you do, they are preparing you for war, and war is not fun and simple mistakes will kill you.

When i arrived in BMQ i always made a point to answer the instructions loud and clearly no matter how nervous I was. This may have played a factor into how much they grilled me after that, in that they thought I wasn't so easily scared so didn't try as hard to get me going - I dont know for sure if this is the case, just something i noticed among the instructors. I noticed the ones who appeared outwardly meek or shy got grilled a lot more.

This show is completely watered down to appeal to the public and make people willing to join. If you join and this is the expectation you have another thing in store for you.
