Sorry about the people who were being rude in the comments of your previous Bo Burnham reactions!! There's certainly some deeper meanings but the different interpretations of his songs are all valid!! If it was merely comedy for some then that's fine, it was meant to be enjoyed!! Bo fans can be such pricks. I love your reactions so much, you're so sweet!
@medic48383 жыл бұрын
I don't like when people generalize a vocal minority. "Bo fans can be such pricks" While this is true, in reality the bigger truth is just that PEOPLE can be pricks. EDIT: And to speak on what you said Ellie, don't ever feel bad when something with Bo goes over your head. His content is incredibly layered and generally takes several listen throughs to pick-up on everything. Even then you can still find your own interpretation that may differ from everyone else. At the end of the day you just gotta be you!
@elise40203 жыл бұрын
@@medic4838 Yeah, I guess what I was trying to say is "People can be such pricks, and some people are fans of Bo Burnham. Therefore, some Bo fans are pricks" And yeah!! I didn't really care to unpack the deeper meaning of White Woman's Instagram (especially White Woman's Instagram) until I had had time to just enjoy it. So it makes sense that after one (FILMED) listen, some things went over her head.

@@elise4020 Agreed! Yeah I guess I also personally shouldn't just take someone's quick thoughts for face value. But ya know, lotsa ignorant people here on the interweb. And I just know that there's a lot of very wonderful Bo fans so my kneejerk reaction was to come to their defense. But absolutely! I heavily misunderstood the deeper meaning behind White Woman's Instagram upon my first listen. At first when it came to the part about the girls mom, I thought he was trying to take some kind of jab at how repetitive/fake those messages can be. After listening to it a few more times, watching reactions, and gathering several perspectives I quickly realized that my initial impression felt pretty far off. It was in reality the complete opposite, I think Bo wanted to remind us that there's still real people behind those cliché posts. Real people that have emotions, struggles and hardships.

@lordaragon9013 жыл бұрын
The thing about religion is that it’s not phrased right, telling everyone that god loves you no matter what or that if you’re devoted you can go to heaven, all that does is tell people “hey! Are you an asshole? Just do this simple routine everyday and anything you do won’t matter, You can live eternally in pure happiness here in heaven. Killed somebody? Just pray and it no longer matters. Raped somebody? Not my problem, pray and you still get eternal happiness” The idea was good, something for people to believe in, to turn to, but to devote your life to it makes it counterproductive. Drinking water is essential for life but is it still essential if you drown? Completely devoting your everything to 1 single thing never goes well for anyone. Even love, yes devotion is good but complete and absolute devotion to love makes it hard to see the red flags a lot of people have. Which means it’s not good for you and sometimes even the people around you too. It’s good to believe a lot in something, but your life is still yours.
