I love that you show your true reaction to songs, even when you dislike something! BMTH's genre has definitely changed a few times over their music career. The main difference was the complete change between their older stuff (which consists of more screaming and is heavier) and their more recent music, especially the albums 'That's the Spirit' and 'amo' due to it taking on a more pop-punk kinda vibe. This actually caused a lot of tension within the fanbase due to this change as there is arguably now two fanbases (one for each)- most recently Tiktok has brought this up again due to 'can you feel my heart'' trending and some people felt like they had to gatekeep the band. If you like Throne, I recommend the rest of the album that it originates from (That's the Spirit) if you want to keep to their less heavy stuff and avoid anything before sempiternal as this is their more heavy stuff. Bit of a long explanation but it might clear up why you like some of their stuff but not others :)

It takes a while to get used to screaming/growling, but when you're in, you're in for life. I first encountered it properly with "Asking Alexandria - Closure", and at first i was like "Tf is this bs". But after a while i started coming around, and, before i knew it, i was out there getting my nose bone smashed in in wall of death's to "Make Them Suffer - Widower" and much more. It completely altered the course of my life in so many ways. I found my best friends, that stayed when everyone else faded away, through that music, and it saved my life countless of times. And for that reason, it's great to see a "regular" person's reaction to the, basically, foundation of my life.

A tip for listening to songs with scream vocals: treat the scream vocals as if it is "another instrument" that happens to be able to say "words". Although for me, the first time i heard scream vocals was underoath's "dangerous business walking to your front door" and i instantly fell in love with scream vocals.

Try their song "In The Dark", Oli (Sykes) the lead singer, doesn't scream at all in that track, and his singing voice sounds wonderful. That song is off their pop-ish album from 2019, called "Amo" which they got nominated for a Grammy. Many fans LOVE him no matter which way he comes at us. For me it depends on my mood and it took me a minute to grow to absolutely love his aggressive screams, now I crave it, cherishing them because he nearly lost his ability to scream at all, causing pain and panic among the OG fanbase. But his falsetto is just as beautiful to me. He, and the boys in the band have proven multiple times, they do all genres extremely well and always way ahead of their time. Top-tier trendsetters. Legendary icons as well as really great guys that are also incredibly down-to-earth, caring human beings. 🎶🤘🏼❤️ Love BMTH! 😍
