If you put on white wax first ,then the dark you will have more control of the dark.

I didn’t think that paint would adhere to the wax. Did you clean and remove the wax?

I didn’t, I painted over it and waxed it again. So far so good, it hasn’t chipped and is holding up great ❤️

That was my thought as well. It is better to sand off the wax before painting over it.
