Stout Shako it doesnt allow them to carry more items back on expeditions, it allows them to carry more items OUT, and more items means more possible events (e.g carrying a flashlight might be “X went into dark place, used light to find extra food” though thats not exact) Atleast thats my understanding from what others have said

it just hit me. turn 60 seconds into a battle royale, where the events correspond to each other (family 1: raids nearby shelter / family 2: raiders are at the door!). Just put 10 families in one game and see who survives until the end. one family? two? depends on your own kindness

Tbh I was kinda thinking of making something similar to this. Bunker survival game without the scavenging at the beginning, instead you pick one of a few families who are stocked depending on how prepared they are (e.g. a group of doomsday peppers, a crafty lone vagabond, a family of patriots etc.) You have an expedition page (where you make choices during an expedition to try and survive and bring back as many supplies as possible) And a bunker page (where you ration your supplies, and make choices affecting the family) The characters you meet, get attacked by, and help and hinder are actually the other families. A lot of them are assholes by default, but helping them might make them like you.

NL, if you send someone out with the padlock theres a good chance that along with their other loot theyll come back with 2 water. Sometimes theyll even bring the padlock back with it. You can also use the lock to go on an expedition with one person.

@@clbmurat I think book causes sickness and flashlight hurts someone, the bug spray is indeed the best solution for that event, but if you don't have it, it is better to do nothing and roll the dice.

I'm starting to think that the whole briefcase situation is a case of bad game design. Who would think that a briefcase, basically a backpack, would not get you more loot while something like a checkers board, an item that would weigh you down, will get you more loot.

I can't remember if it was taught during the tutorial, but taking the suitcase DOES show that you can take 3 more items with you. I'm okay with him thinking that it helps him collecting more, but I don't understand why he never tries to bring any miscallaneous to see if it has an effect on an expedition.

Most of the flavor text during expeditions shows the character scavenging for supplies. It really doesn’t make sense, aside for this being a videogame, to bring anything but a carriage device and some protection to assist in this scavenging.

@@PongzeLor Then why would they give you the option to take other items with you. This is a game based on trial and error, you can see it in the event system. So just try sending someone with a harmonica or a deck of cards and see if it does anything.

I'm not sure if it's bad or good. Like this game does intentionally seem to try to be obscure and obtuse with what does what (the just plain randomness of how thirst/hunger increments is one example). So it seems to do what it intends to do, but I'm not sure intending to do that is really a good thing.

It seems a bit more complicated and he's having trouble with the mechanics in this. Plus he did that one stream of it and got the "bomb kills you, no saving roll" event like 2 or 3 runs in a row which I think soured him a bit on it.
