I passed my technician class yesterday, and you’re actually around my area! I went to my first DCARA meeting tonight and it was a blast. May see you around once I start fox hunting. 73

W7YHF. Great video. I am in Minnesota, so I have until Spring to build a YAGI and find a club having a fox hunt. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and Thank You. This was a fun video to record and I highly recommend getting involved local clubs. They are a great place to get help and to learn more what we can do in this hobby.

Love t-hunt videos. Thanks for posting. 👍 A couple of questions: I understand the Micro Fox rig, but with the ammo box rig, what was controlling the timing of the broadcasts? Also, I gather that VOX was used with the media player to handle the PTT situation, but why was the media player also plugged into the mic jack?
@TankRadio3 жыл бұрын
I believe timing was done with a silent section on the track after the ID, then the Track was looped over and over again. The Media player was plugin into the mic port with VOX enabled on the radio. During the silent partitions of the track the VOX will be not activate and the radio will NOT be transmitting. Then there was audio, tones and the station id, #KeepItLegal. VOX will activate and the radio will transmit the incoming Audio.

@@TankRadio OK, got it. Nifty way to overcome lack of microcomputer based control and the need for a separate PTT cable.

That is a very nerdy sport. Where do I sign in?

Ask your local ham report club. If they dont have one, start one. Everyone will enjoy it

@@TankRadio but i need to be taught. it is hard to start a club without knowing almost anything about it. man. but this is the semi perfect sport. It is a combo. Exercising the mind, the body, and demands some technical knowledge. plus it has a real life application, in case someday one needs to triangulate a signal
