2:46 MSPT isn't jumping because dust drops to one lower than the lowest nearby signal strength, so just one set of updates. If there was 2 dust there then the lag, then there would be real lag. Rails also got fixed in .16, they were really bad 1.13, and got improved in some snapshot after that until they were fixed in .16.

Yeah thought so. Also I didn't know much about dust updates and ect, I never use enough dust to know..

Am I having a really smol brain moment here, or does your explanation of why pistons cause lag and how to fix it indicate that you should be building roofs over your tree farms, despite not having roofs over your tree farms?

I posted a couple farms using less redstone. I plan to do further testing when I get a huge item sorter made. I think it’ll fair better than the one I based it off of. Same with the melon farm I’d like to see how much a legacy console edition can handle. If someone finds out post your find.

Bedrock has more optimized dust and producers. Thats basically it
@MathematiqsАй бұрын
A few things to add: -Using a tick sprint/warp to check for a machine's lag contribution isn't enough. For example, Machine A producing 50 ms of constant lag on every tick will run at 20 TPS in the warp and 20 TPS in practice while Machine B producing a 100 ms lagspike every 2 gt will also run at 20 TPS in the warp but only 13.3 TPS in practice. -Lag caused by entities wasn't mentioned at all yet they can produce more than than anything else especially when they're all in one place. -It's quite important to know where most of the lag is coming from in a machine, it's pointless to obsess over a optimizing a small redstone clock if mobs alone account for 10-20 MSPT. (Of course, the specific lag values will vary based on hardware but the proportion between them should stay roughly constant)
