Hello sir Are the difference spectrum and derivative spectrum the same thing?

Hi there! In a difference spectrum you subtracted one spectrum from another one. This is useful when looking for specific peaks or in mixture analysis. In a derivative spectrum means that you access the first (or second, or third etc.) derivative of the curve. This can be used to further improve identification results in tricky situations.
