In this video we have explained the basics of stock market. This video explains in a very simple language the following
1) What is a share?
Here we have explained basic concept of share with a day to day example and drawn comparison with a real share (Reliance Industries)
2) What is share market? How does share market work?
We have explained how a share is bought, how transaction happens and the role of multiple players - brokers, buyer, seller, stock exchange
3) How does share market give returns and profits?
We have explained dividend and share value increase including share buyback.
Throughout we have given real examples of publicly traded companies such as Reliance, Sun pharma, Infosys and ITC.

If you are beginner in stock market, it is better to start with index funds before buying stocks directly. Start to buy very small quantities of shares (based on your savings - may be Rs 1000) of 2-3 companies and hold it for a year. Use this one year to learn how stock market behaves and how companies fundamentals impact share prices. After you gain good knowledge, you can start investing in stocks directly. Monthly or lumpsum investment will be based on what your investment strategy is. please note, we are not SEBI registered investment advisors.
