Compression is the first effect I always use in my mixing chain for vocals. This is to level out the dynamic range of the vocal so its equally level among all parts of the song. I am learning for myself everything I can about mixing and mastering vocals the best way I can being really early into vocal eng. But Your videos help out alot , still I hope to see a tutorial on youtube about achieving the dark surround effect of for example POP SMOKE -PTSD . The mixing seems raw but in such a good way. Dunno maybe cause I'm a fan, but the vocals on that song hit so hard imo. I'd like to learn how to achieve that right now, that's my quest. A video from you, probably would be spot on imo

Pretty sure the gain on fl limiter does the IN gain, not the out, so you don’t want to mess with that after finding your settings on the compressor
