There were Nihangs who did fight in the attack many farladharis were with Sant Jarnail Singh Ji and one of Sant Jarnail Singhs Ji's close confidants was Baba Nihal Singh (Tarna dal) only Baba Santa Singh and Singhs loyal to him didn't aid Sant Ji because of ideological differences and he aplogised in 2001 for this and for reconstructing Akal Takht and gave peshi to Akal Takht. Sant Ji sent many Nihangs like Shaheed Bhai Avtar Singh Ji Brahma to continue the movement after '84.
