A great piece to compare the sounds of the Conns and the Selmers. It looks like the Conns are New Wonder II 's....the Improved Chu Berry Model. They can be identified by the bell keys are on both sides of the bell. Those Selmers are the standard of the industry, but don't count out those old Conns. All of these tenor men are top drawer and would sound great playing on anything.

Tommy Saunders, the great cornetist and court jester at Sacramento and Monterey for so many years, would certainly be making a joke about these 4 guys if they were paired with his group. Something along the lines of "I haven't seen this many shingles since I got my new roof." Man, Tommy would bust relentlessly on these reed guys, but he used some great ones in his groups like the Midwest All Stars. I can attest that 4 world class reed players can bring down a jazz house faster than any brass players...,

Levinson almost always the tallest guy in a group. Cannot think of anyone taller in trad jazz.
