HI there. Thanks for the nice comments. We suffered on many occasions with TV stations and live events where there was no rehearsal time or proper facilities to perform live and so many of our appearances were to playback. Today the technology is much better for recording live but this excerpt shows what could be done with proper attention to the skills of recording a live performance. We were very much a live band before we had the hits and there are only a few occasions when the TV station actually got things right. This is one of them. Ken.

Early 70 ties music at its very very best. Good voices, beautiful arrangement and harmony. Sally Carr is attractive but much more important, extremely talented. Shame they were labelled “popular” . In those days one was not allowed to take this extremely underrated band serious. ABBA was inspired by Middle of the Road but was far better managed and in now a classic value. Middle of the road deserves the same

Yes, MIDDLE OF THE ROAD were a good live band, they could perform live - if the TV station or record company "allowed" it. But also playback was always on Sally's track. Although nowadays technology is more advanced and better, the shows are only playback and actually a deception.

Even with clothes on she was so cute and pretty and it was native pretty not to much make up that she didn't need I think ahh I forgot her pretty smile so cute, when I speak about clothes I not mean it in a bad way, just mean when she have other clothes on then pants I as a man ofcause think she looks nice in pants, but I think she was ok in other clothes also, a true pretty Scottish woman...... Just love when she speak with Scottish accent it just goes to the heart....

Yes. The TV performance was the way we performed the song live. In the recording, we used enhanced electronic effects to beef up the drums.
