Basingstoke Station 30th July 2013

What was supposed to be a day out at Worting junction ended up as a blissful day at Basingstoke with all kinds of traction and movements captured for your entertainment. The station has good working toilets, coffee shop, newsagent and friendly staff. Featuring - Double/triple headed freights, light engines, diesel units, electric units all dance on the Basingstoke tracks. A really enjoyable day out that turned out at least 50% better than I expected. What started off as a rainy early start ended on a wonderful shiny afternoon. Thanks to all the fellow train enthusiasts I met on the day. Thanks for watching folks. edit - missed a light colas 66 and edited out a intermodal 66.

Sure is one of the busiest days I have filmed at any station . Which actually was a big surprise. I went there on a risk and it totally paid of. Basingstoke is certainly a station that doesn't get enough recognition for railway enthusiasts. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

Okay cool :-) Basingstoke is a bit far from me as I'm in Brighton. I will be seeing the Brighton Belle Belmont one tomorrow Friday at Preston Park and Hove :-)

09:30-19:00 (10.5 hours). Most came after 14:00. It really was a wonderful experience bar the bad early weather. I spent 45 mins in the adjacent shopping centre so I might have missed more. Fellow enthusiasts turned up about 14:00 from all over the place. I only filmed about 30% of the passenger stuff. Pretty much all day was stuff coming and going. Would well recommend the station. It has that old school look. The announcer never stopped lol. Anyway, glad you enjoyed.

Amazing. I never thought in a million years that b'stoke was that busy. Excellant footage mate. How long were you there. Like the stills as well.
