There's a thai dude here named nehan who mentioned that thailand doesn't have a professional basketball team nor league..thailand has a professional basketball league its called Thailand Basketball League (TBL) founded in 2012. Thailand also has a team in the ABL which is hi-tech bangkok city and previously bangkok slammers..All of your SEAG players came from the TBL and ABL which professional leagues. Now, this thai guy Nehan also mentioned that team Philippines has not qualified in the olympics and hasn't won a medal in FIBA world cup. We already did. Ph qualified 7 times in the olympics with a best finish of 5th overall in the 1936 Olympics held in Germany. PH last participated in 1972 Olympics which was also held in Germany, finishing 13th overall. PH has also qualified 9 times in the FIBA world cup, the most recent was in 2014 FIBA world cup in Spain. PH won the bronze medal in 1954 and one PH player was a member of the mythical team in that tournament. He is Carlos Loyzaga. 1936 Olympics - 5th place 1972 Olympics - 7th place 1954 FIBA world cup - Bronze medal No other country in Asia has reached that far. Yes, China and Iran are constant qualifiers but they haven't won a single medal. Now Nehan tell me, what Asian country has best record in FIBA world cup and The Olympics (men's Basketball)? Thailand sent a selection from their professional ball clubs including their Thailand Slammers..Philippines sent a selection of collegiate players with ages 19 - 22 (except naturalized player Marcus Douthit) but Thailand still failed..If the senior Gilas team (team who qualified in 2014 FIBA World Cup) was sent here, it will be a totally different story and it won't be even close (maybe 50 pts will be the lowest lead)..SEABA and SEA Games are training grounds for Gilas Cadets to get familiarized in international Basketball..I appreciate Thailand for giving their very best effort (including dirty tactics) but they still can't match this PH team.

Meanwhile THA still flopping their way to bronze medal. You got big help from the referees especially that ejection. 2 fts and a possession for getting up after that flop by a THA player. Its not a lesson for PHI. Its a lesson for other SEA basketball teams to improve their games. They just wanted to make the games more closer for other teams thats why they did not send pros. They could just set up plays for Marcus Douthit and slam it hard if they wanted to or shoot 3s with our pros. But they didn't, coz its for our amateur players to be exposed to international games and improve our games. Not just get the gold. Just accept the defeat and improve your games. You earn respect if you give a team a good fight and not flopping just to win.

Thailand team is not a pushover in most of the sports. They are well rounded in so many sports discipline. We are lucky we escape this humiliating experience. Thai players are both physical and experienced players. They play in semi pro league ABL, while our Sinag Team are our best collegiate players. @kazuya you mean respect for the game..yes we do have respect for game by sending amateur/collegiate players in sea games..if we send our professional baller from the PBA or our Gilas senior team, then it will always be a blowout game, you will be lucky to lose by 50 pts else it will be 80+ everygame..now tell me if this is not showing respect?..i've seen ur players play in the ABL like attaporn, what i don't like is the attitude of your local foreign players like #15, i've seen how dirty you played against singapore..and don't u there dare to play dirty against the PH as these kids know the physicality of the game more than you do..you cannot even match your team against kazakhstan, bahrain and india last fiba asia 2013..yeah we will still be sending amateur/college players in the future and we will continue to withstand the challenges it may bring..we have very good basketball program and great coaches..we will wait for your next challenge in 2017 sea games..o btw good luck on your bronze medal game match tomorrow against singapore..hopefully you can win this time else you'll have no medal in men's basketball to bring home.

JV Lanticse The rules have changed. That was 2015 and the players are allowed 0,00 and 1-99.
