Bro anybody can come and play me at Chennai. I am 5'9 and I play local basketball. I think this game sucks for any level. It's not about sponsorship. When IPL started players didn't play for millions. When cricket started people didn't get crores. The players improved and it made viewers not the other way around. These players suck because they are not real ballers. Any streetteam in USA can finish this team who may even be homeless black ppl. Infact there is no audience for basketball because there is no good player who u can pay to watch. If the players improve everybody will start watching. In short viewership didn't pick up and the business failed.

After second thoughts i came to the opinion that this game will decide the career of some of these players...probably government jobs. And so inherently it is a selection process which is probably filled with corruption as usual. So the refs are giving wrong calls all the time and let the game go on. I dont think the players are really that bad. If allowed to play with right calls tamilnadu would have taken a blowout loss to punjab. The refs are aiding TN many a time. Blocking fouls are not called so the game looks like basket-kabadi. Still i think the player skills are quite avg for a national level finals.
