8:48 Correction: it’s the Warriors not the 76ers. In 1962, the Warriors are in Philadelphia back then while the 76ers are in Syracuse formerly called them as the Nationals.

If the 3pt line existed, Richie would have understood why Pete took 30 footers. Trying to bring the defender out. Milwaukee’s GM Wayne Embry drafted Julius Erving in the ‘72 draft.

The problem though is a 30 foot shot in the 79's was still only 2 points so let's say pete shot 38% from 30 ft that would only give him .76 points per shot on the other hand a 55% shot from 10-15 ft would give him 1.1 points per shot

He tried to steal Erving but the NBA squashed him flat.

How many NBA titles did Richie Guerin's teams win? While he talks about how tough he was, his strategies for defense and his efforts for keeping teammates satisfied/getting enough shots, Richie's teams were not very successful. A good NBA prayer who worked hard to modernize from the two-hand set shot days to jump-shots, to two hand dribbling, and to shooting with both hands (especially layups), Richie improved his game but never reached the excellence of the likes of his contemporaries Bill Russell (11 NBA championships in 13 years), Sam Jones, Elgin Baylor, Oscar, and Jerry West. Richie never seemed to completely modernize his skills above those of the guards of the 1950's NBA.

His jump shot was a two handed one most of the time. I've tried it and I can make like 95% of my shots with that release compared to any other kind of jump shot I've ever done. Best one by far and I'm not even kidding 😁

How many rings does Baylor have? Big O without Alcindor/Kareem is just a glorified individualist and people talk about Russells 11 rings like he won them all by himself. Talk about having double standards for certain players.

Guerin could've played great in any era. I seen his games in the early 70s when he was past his prime on the st Louis Hawks on the new york Knicks dynasty series box sett dvds and he was still killing defenders much younger than him driving to the basket and knocking down floaters over much younger players.
