MJ is by far the greatest/best basketball player of all time. I laugh when I hear people try and compare him to anyone else. He was dominant, fundamentally sound, athletic & ultra competitive. Best all around intangibles in one singular athlete. MJ is basketball, the very definition of it.

@prince21781 At what? And how when they didn't accomplish what MJ did? None of them dominated individually and collectively as a team like MJ. The Bulls went to 6 finals and lost none of them, MJ best player every time. You might not like MJ or your fav is someone else, that's cool. But you cats are going to have to start making logical sense when making comments about the NBA. At this point you just prove that delusion is alive and well, and understand that most of us don't take what you're saying seriously anyway.
@jaglavack2479 ай бұрын
@russellgillick7938 Okay, how did they change the rules to help MJ, I'm curious. Make sure you have imperical data, not trying to hear about how you feel or some silly narrative you're just repeating. If you tell me your fav player is your GOAT I respect that as your opinion. Personal feelings aside MJ was & is still that dude, nobody did more for the NBA globally. He was the face of the NBA when it was the most popular and at the peak of it's powers. The league now is a joke compared to it's heyday......

As for the season record, I think Wilt is better, even if we take into account the era context. But even so, the reason I'm picking Jordan as the best scorer of all time is because of his playoff scoring record. Jordan holds just about every record in playoff history, including most points in a single game, most points per game in a playoff game and most points per game in a 93 Finals series. He has the most 40+ points game record, and most 50+ points record also. He's even stronger in the playoffs, where defenses are much stronger than in the regular season.
@joseaaronleojeruta21225 ай бұрын
Now that's fact. Not just some troll statement out there saying, "nba changed the rules to help jordan"... As if mj played by a new rule and the rest of the 300+ players play by the okd rules. Absurd.

kobe's 35ppg was the worst ever. He just shot shot and shot everything. thats not the definition of best. He shot his team out of Playoffs. at 45%FG. very low efficiency.

@@kaksmirknight5318exactly! The pace, possessions, and league average ppg were way higher in the 80s vs the 00s. Also Kobe shot 3s and MJ didn’t, which also accounts for the fg% discrepancy. Context matters. Only a simpleton would form a conclusion based solely off of the percentages.

Well, yeah, he is by a lot of measurements. We could go down the list, Career PPG(both regular season and playoff), career PER, FT%, time leading the league in scoring, assists, playmaking, championships, MVPs, finals MVPs and plenty more. I'm all for giving Wilt the credit he deserves, but better than MJ at everything is a pretty silly statement. He was definitely better and rebounding, blocking shots, and playing endless minutes which is incredible especially at his size. No need to get ridiculous with it though.

Nope numbers do lie. MJ did the 37 a game in an NBA era closer to the Modern Flower NBA past 10 yrs. Kobe did the 35.4 were defense choking up scorers. @michaelallen8112 Wilt was dominant, no question. But his dominance did not impact winning for his team. As a matter of fact when Wilt was not as dominant individually his teams actually won. Conversely MJ's dominance was never a hindrance on the Bulls winning once they made it to the finals. Wilt vs MJ, that's an easy victory for Jordan. He dominated individually and his team actually won more. And Wilt played the majority of his career in the pre modern NBA, half of the best players in the world weren't even allowed to play. Robbed of the MVP that year. Magic had a good season, but 3,000 points and the ONLY player ever to have 200+ steals and 100+ blocks in a season (which he did multiple times) dominating the league on BOTH sides of the ball IS the literal definition of MVP. MJ was robbed in 87, 90, and 93. He should have 8 MVP’s. 90 and 93 he led the league on both sides of the ball. Scoring and steals both. He did that 3 separate times. But only won the MVP in one of those seasons in 88. That’s ridiculous.
