Just got an 83 cheetah bass boat that needs a transom and I’ll probably go off this video as well as a few others when I do it. Good job.

Looking at a 1995 21xdc. I know it needs a transom. Are you familiar with the core of these boats? Is it common for them to rot out? I did a hydrostream core once and don't want to do another on a bullet.

not ssure as far as i can tell the transom should be replaced every 1020 years but most of them are just wood coverewd in fiberglass some ppl use kusa to replace and the liquid transom ive heard good things about but i would just use plywood seems to work really well on the cheap but kusa or something that literally cant rot would be better and lighter weight and if i had the money at the time i would have used that

Great video. And you did a great job............. but I think your video talked me into doing a poured transom. I'll never finish it like this.

feel that man it was pretty tough doin it the old way and ive heard some good things about the poured transoms i think i took like 3 months to do mine but if i had a shop inside i bet it woulda only took a couple weeks lol but have fun with urs man and good luck still pretty tough doing the poured ones too!!

@@stranddiy i would have used the liqued transom its good stuff and never rots either. Seen a guy do it and for the stuff was just under 500.00 and he just had to refiber glass the top cap. My 1999 zx210c has a composite transom. Its the pour in. Thats what the c is for.

@@lonniesimmonds2294 LOL yeah i saw alot of videos on that stuff too but the hole in the inside part of the transom i think would have been a problem and i wanted to go cheap but still try to do it as close to how it was done to start with but idk i dont think the liquid tran would have been the way to go on this particular job but ive seen good results!
