Man, I like your attitude and attention to detail! Form, fit, & function, all hallmarks of a job well done. I especially liked the use of the Rhino label system, which I think wire was invented for. The heatshrink labels are durable, easy to read, and don't peel. Keep getting it done like that!

That’s the most complete restoration I’ve seen on KZbin. Including the trailer. That’s the only time I’ve seen anyone do the trailer. Lots of hard work into a beautiful restoration.

What a great job you did. I restored a boat about 15 years ago and it was alot of work. Still have it to this day. What you did was a extensive restoration even rebuilding a motor very impressive. Here's to you and many many happy hours on the water.

Wow! That was an amazing job! I've got an old Cajun bass boat that I want to restore like this. All the new boats on the market are great looking, but I just love the way older bass boats looked. Growing up on Lake Fork in the 80's & 90's, I saw so many of them every time a tournament rolled in & those older boats are still what I like.

What model? I'm restoring a cajun right now same color as this ranger
@aslmx19182 жыл бұрын
I worked at a ranger dealer for a few years. Loved working on these old rangers. I believe this model had a wood transom before they went to fiberglass. My mentor always told me to put the bottom motor bolts with the nut on the inside to keep water from running up the threads.
@garlingoins29882 жыл бұрын
Very useful hint about bottom bolts, have heard about the older transoms rotting out.
@aslmx19182 жыл бұрын
@@garlingoins2988 some say it was a myth but that’s the way I was taught to install them. Theory makes since and I didn’t question his experience over what little I had at the time. That old man taught me a ton about boats.

Excellent video you showed there, it was really nice. I have done similar to what you did with boats I have had in the past, one a 17.5ft Skeeter Bass Boat. Took it all apart from bow to stern and cleaned or replaced everything I could get my hands on. It was a labor of love, and no real work to me at all , because I enjoyed what I was doing. Sold it many years latter for 4 times what I had in it, it was that nice.

I'm impressed! Now you gotta go shopping for some fish finders. How did y'all get the shine on the fiberglass.? Machine buffing with mcquires oxidation removal solution isn't working too well for us. Also, what did y'all glue the carpet down with? We are restoring an '84 Ranger now. Don't forget to replace the steering rack and pinion under driver's console. Ours jammed on us going 25 mph with a 115 up mercury tower of power resulting in a scary situation.
