Darren’s stuff is always first class. Great masterclass for keyboard bass lines.

Useful but what about the pedals? My conflict is about how to have a left and pedals.

Bass pedals are generally for percussion (tapping or ‘thumping’ any note to imitate the sound of a double bass) and for accents. Beyond the scope of what I had planned for this video.

Is there any way to color the key you press? It is difficult to clearly identify the key you press, and by the time it visually registers you are already on to the next note. It makes me feel like I’m playing catch up and cannot comfortably learn what you are demonstrating. Some videos have an extra keyboard above the one played that darken the key pressed. That mentally registers faster as it is clear what note is being played. Also, it is hard to hear the bass note volume and therefore distinguish between notes. Could you do the demonstration a couple octaves higher with a brighter tone to make the notes stand out?

Odd point, but it seems like master jazz organ players have a different, drum like, conception of time. More polyrhythmic and layered. What would Chick and McCoy say about this comment? They are both rhythmic masters of the piano...

Yeah I'm not sure. But's there's definitely more R'n'B feeling with most jazz organ.
